A new Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood (SDEL) was created vide Government order number DPAR 164 SAS 2016, dated 24-09-2016.
This department has been created with the sole motive of enhancing employment opportunities and bringing all skill development programmes under one roof.
The government of Karnataka has set up the District Skill Development Office at the district level to help the youth to acquire necessary skills and expertise to increase their employability. Its aim is to undertake the functions of monitoring, implementation and promotion of all skill development initiatives in the district.
